This mindset shift will help you reach your fitness goal

I threw out my back on Friday…

The last time this happened a coworker laughed and said “you know, all this working out isn’t helping you. Look at me, I’m out of shape and have no issues at all.”

Touché out of shape coworker…

But physical ailments aside, it’s not about saying “I can’t” it’s about asking “How do I…”
That simple shift in how you talk to yourself and how your mind looks at the obstacles life throws at you will greatly increase your chance of reaching your goal faster.

Life gets in the way. A lot. When you have kids there are so many reasons to stop moving or taking care of yourself. But you don’t have to accept them.

Look ahead, see the future you want and go after it.

If you are injured or hurt, your job is to recover and get stronger. That doesn’t mean sitting around eating junk food all day. It means eating food that fuels your recovery and finding the exercises or stretches that help you recover. Sometimes it means doing nothing but rest but in my experience there’s some form of movement that helps.

If your life is crazy, find the windows in your day where you can move more. Feed your body the foods that fire up your brain and fuel your body.

On that note, I’m off to do a light workout and slowly get through this back pain.

Committed to your fitness success,

Ryan
