These 2 Things Cause People To Fall Off Track With Their Fitness Goals

And this is how I would fix it

What causes people to not stick with their fitness goal?

This is something that has been on my mind over the last few days mostly because it’s something that I am struggling with myself at the moment.

There are many things that can hinder us from living our fit life but there are two reasons that overshadow every other:

  1. Overwhelm

  2. Mindset

Overwhelm

You’ve lived, are probably living it now and will continue to live it - Life. Gets. Busy. Sometimes so busy that you feel like you can hardly keep your head above water. When this happens one of the first things to go is the workouts and healthy eating. Not even just because you don’t have time but also because it’s one more thing that you have to think about. Your brai will naturally start pruning anything that doesn’t align with it’s survival mode.

As the saying goes: ‘Old habits die hard’ and to that I will add ‘New habits die first.’ When life gets busy, those new habits are the first to go.

Mindset

We live in the information age. There are no shortage of free workouts and diets. Ask any AI platform and it will spit out a full plan for you in under a minute. So why do people struggle to actually reach their fitness goal?

It all happens between the ears.

How you see yourself, how you see your goal, the subconscious story you tell yourself, how you imaging the future - these are all contributors to how your mind will dictate whether you will stay on track or not.

The Quick FIx

Overwhelm - Keep the exercise simple and scheduled into your day. I know you don’t have to workout every day to get in shape but schedule it in for 15-30 minutes each day so it becomes part of your routine.

For nutrition, same thing. Keep it simple.

Mindset - Find your ‘Why’ - Focus on the underlying reasons WHY you want to achieve your goal. Don’t stop asking yourself ‘why’ until you get to the emotional layer because, as it turns out, humans are driven by emotion.

On that note, I am building out a mindset course. IF you want to be the first to trial it (it will be 100% free until I’m satisfied with how people like it) reply to this email with the word ‘Mindset’ and I will put you on the list.

Committed to your fitness success,
