The BEST way to stay motivated for your fitness goal

Have you ever started a fitness or nutrition program only to fall off track after just a week or two?

If so, you are not alone. In fact, you are in the majority… but it doesn’t have to be that way.

For the last 3 weeks I have been running a consistency challenge with my clients. Because I only see them a couple times per week (a few people a little more because they are in different groups) I wanted to give them a little motivation to exercise on the days they don’t train with me.

The result after just 3 weeks of only 3 or 4 workouts per week?

  1. More energy

  2. Feeling stronger

  3. An actual desire to workout more

  4. Sense of pride an increased confidence

How does this apply to you?

You don’t have to wait for a big challenge to happen or sign up to some fitness group. You can find a friend, spouse or family member (or all of the above) and make your own challenge.

The reward can be bragging rights, cash, favors, whatever! Find what motivates you and make that your prize.

Once you have someone to do it with, and something to work for all you need to do is set your goal and a time frame in which to do it.

Pro-tip: Make your goal challenging but not too challenging. I find ‘all or nothing’ goals really easy to mess up. Anything that is a ‘daily challenge’ leaves very little wiggle room for when life gets tricky.

Get your friends, family, set some personal goals and get to work! Our friend group is going on almost 2 years of challenges now and it’s been a great way to bond, stay active and socialize (there’s a potluck at the end of each challenge).

You find yours and enjoy the process with people you love.

Committed to your fitness success,

Ryan
