Should You Wake Up Early To Workout?

Have you ever had the intention to wake up early for a workout but when the alarm goes off you hit the snooze button about 7 times before finally getting up?
And then after a week of trying and failing you get discouraged and give up altogether?

If that’s you this is my tried and tested honest advice….

Stop fighting it.

If you can’t wake up early at this point in your life don’t fight it. Don’t get down on yourself and don’t worry.

This is what I have told clients in the past:
1. When you are hitting the snooze button for half an hour you are just getting crappy sleep.
2. Set your alarm (if you even need it) to the latest time possible for you to be able to get up and off to work on time.
3. Find a 15-25 minute window in your day to fit in a quick workout instead.

You are better off getting a quick workout in 5 days a week than an early morning hour long workout zero days a week.

I am highly in favor of early morning workouts but if your body is fighting you on it go for a plan B and try again in 6 months.

Also, if you aren’t in bed by 9:30 or 10 maybe try to bump that bedtime up a little and maybe you’ll wake up earlier 🙂
