Active Parent Balance
Balance life with kids while achieving your fitness goal
It’s Sunday evening as I type this email and I hope you have had a great weekend. For us it was managing martial arts and ringette for the kids and building my shed plus a gown up birthday party for us. Needless to say we’re tired and ready for bed. So let’s get into this!
Last week’s highlights
If you are trying to figure out how to get the best bang for your buck out of your workouts last week’s YouTube video is for you.
Something to think about
Tonight I prioritized a couple things over prepping food for the week. How much easier is it when you have food ready to go in the fridge compared to when you have to guess and throw something together on the fly? I know for me that the 20-30 minutes it would have taken me to prep my meat and cut up some veggies would have probably benefited me more than tinkering in the shed. What do you prioritized over your fitness goals?
Recipe/Meal prep
I’ll be honest, I don’t have a recipe for you tonight but I’m working on a new high protein pancake/waffle recipe that will knock your socks off!
Workout
Choose 3-5 exercises. For example’s sake let’s go:
Pushups
Jump Squats
Biceps curls
Dumbbell Rows
Starting with exercise one do 5-10 Push ups every 30 seconds for 10 rounds.
Repeat with the second exercise and s on until you have completed 10 rounds of ever exercises.
This is similar to the burpee EMOM (ever minnute on the minute) I gave you a couple weeks ago but more rounded and just as brutal.
