People Forget This When Trying To Get Stronger
We all know the heroes of strength gain and fat loss - weights, cardio, protein, vegetables.
There are countless videos online of the best workout, HIIT protocols, and visually appealing recipes but there is one thing that is almost never mentioned…
Sleep and Recovery.
If you are going to train hard your muscles need to recover.
If you want to be in an optimal state for burning fat you need quality sleep.
This is how you do it:
Don’t neglect carbs (especially if you’re training hard) - Foods like rice, grains, and even fruit will replenish your muscles with what they need to recover.
Take breaks between training - If you do a hard chest day or have a big HIIT session take 2 or 3 days to recover before going at it again.
Make sleep a priority - Get to bed at a decent time and wake up at the same time every morning. Aim for that 8 hrs but if you can’t get as much as you can each night. Your muscles need it, your brain needs it and the body as a whole will benefit when you start making it a habit.
As always, keep it simple, trust the process and don’t give up.
