Active Parent Balance
Balance life with kids while achieving your fitness goal
It’s 10pm and it only hit me a few hours ago that it’s Friday already. The last few days have been busy gutting the garage to turn it into a gym by the end of October. Throughout the mess (and it’s been a BIG mess) and going way over budget it’s the vision of what it will be that keeps me motivated. What keeps you motivated?
Last week’s highlights
Last weekend I uploaded My Top 3 Reasons why parents gain weight after kids and how to fix it video. Give it a watch!
Something to think about
Tomorrow never comes. You can put off the workout or diet but the best thing you can do is take action today. Time waits for no one. Before you know it a month or a year has passed by and you are either in the same or worse place you were when you said “I’ll start tomorrow.”
Recipe/Meal prep - My high protein waffle/pancake mix
1 Cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 large eggs
2/3 cup egg whites
½ cup Siggi’s Skyr
1 cup of milk
½ - 1 tsp vanilla
Mix dry ingredients together. Add wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
Total protein is 69 grams. Divide by number of pancakes or waffles to determine amount per serving.
**Note - 1 full cup of milk makes it a little runny. I add 1 Tbsp flax meal or psyllium husk for extra fiber and to thicken.
Workout
30 Seconds of each for 3-5 rounds:
Mountain Climbers
Jump Squats
Push Ups
Biceps Curls
Single Leg Glute Bridge (left and right)
Rest
A good quote
"If you don't like the road you're walking, start paving another one." — Dolly Parton
