My top 5 supplement recommendations

For those who want to supercharge their fitness journey

This week I am going to skip the usual format and address a question that comes up frequently enough…. That question is “What supplements do you recommend?”

While I highly recommend putting your focus on increasing whole foods and limiting highly processed foods in your diet there are a few that I would still recommend for those who want to go the extra distance.

When starting a new fitness or weight loss journey, the right supplements can support your progress and help you feel your best. Here's a breakdown of a few key options I often recommend to clients in order of importance (my opinion):

🧠 Omega-3 Fish Oils – Omega-3s are known for reducing inflammation, which is especially helpful if you’re just getting started with exercise and experiencing soreness. They also support heart health and may help improve fat metabolism.

💪 Protein Powder – This is one of the most important supplements if you're trying to build muscle or lose weight. It helps with muscle recovery after workouts and keeps you feeling full longer, which can reduce snacking and support fat loss.

☀️ Vitamin D – Many people are deficient, especially if they work indoors or live in less sunny areas. Vitamin D plays a role in energy, mood, and bone strength, and low levels have been linked to reduced muscle function and slower recovery.

🏋️ Creatine Monohydrate – Creatine helps increase strength and muscle mass over time, particularly when combined with resistance training. It also supports high-intensity performance, which can be beneficial for both fat loss and muscle development.

🔥 TMG (Trimethylglycine) – This supplement supports healthy liver function and cellular energy. It may also improve workout endurance and help the body process fats more efficiently, making it useful in a weight loss context.

All that being said I highly recommend focusing on getting your diet to the point where it is 80% whole foods first BUT if you want a little extra boost the supplements above will help.

You can get most of them at any supplement store or pharmacy but for those who want a little convenience I have posted some affiliate links below of brands that I trust but feel free to support your local supplement store as well!
